Windows drivers are old and not free, Linux works well after some updates.

Camera part is very good. The four microphones won’t work in Windows without purchasing some outdated drivers for Windows 7. Linux can use the camera perfectly but I believe the sound requires a newer Kernel or updated libraries. At first, I could get Linux drivers going. I think before the updates it needed to be unplugged, then plugged back in. Works perfectly on Linux Kernel 4.12 with Xubuntu 17.04.

Bargain webcam!

I never realized I could use a PS Eye on a PC as a webcam until browsing the web one day. I really just wanted a microphone to use with Cortana, but for the price, why not get a camera too? I used third party drivers that are easy to find on Google and installation was a breeze on Windows 10 Pro. I have a working camera / mic now with excellent picture quality and virtually no motion blur for next to nothing. There’s really no reason to spend more money than this on a “real” webcam when you can have this.

Amazing camera!I used to have one on my PS3 but it broke.I know that you can use it as a web cam and it works great!I actually bought it to use it as a web cam for my android tv box but unfortunately it didn’t work with the box and I had to return it.Even though it is a great camera which works great with PS3 for “move game” and PC as a web camera.

Good enough for head tracking

For the minimal use I’ll need this for it’s perfectly fine. The only issue was getting the drivers for it, which I think is complete BS that you should have to pay for them. There are perfectly safe places you can go to get the drivers for free though.

The only driver available may or may not work for your computer

Works on my desktop just fine, but does not work on my laptop for some reason. Both are Windows 7 64bit. I’m pretty sure this is due to an issue with the driver, since the driver seems to have all sorts of problems. I guess this sort of problem is to be expected, considering Sony does not officially support this as a PC webcam (only a ps3 camera).

Works great with PC and Factrack, though this is not intended use.

Great for the money. I found the aftermarket software to make it work with my windows 7 and am currently using it as a facetracknoIR camera in which the facetrack works well with War Thunder. The only downside is that I have to keep a light directly on my face and the camera centered in order for it to work consistently. Very happy with this 5.99 purchase and delivery time from this seller.I have most of the items to set up for the IR set up, but I haven’t assembled and tried it yet. Will update.

Works okay as cheap webcam/mic

Just works when I plugged into my system. Camera works as well. The sound quality is somewhat lacking, definitely not nearly good enough for any instrumental recording tasks.

Great for OpenTrack and other DIY NIR applications

I can’t speak to it’s usefulness as a normal camera since I purchased this to build a head tracking rig, but if that’s what you intend to do, this is the one you want. I received the version with the easy (well, easy-ish) to remove IR filter and used a square of exposed, developed 35mm film between the lens mount and sensor as a filter with excellent results after turning down the exposure and gain settings under Options in CLTest. Perfectly sized dots at 640x480px, 60 FPS for OpenTrack to see regardless of lighting conditions.
