Sony TDG-BT500A glasses for Sony KDL-70W850B 70” 480Hz 1080p

I wonder how much of the quality of the 3D viewing is affected by the specifications of the TV.For the past few years I’ve used the older KDL-EX700 TV Sony active 3D system……with its 240 motionflow rate and the black frames interposed between each lighted frame it produces an effective rate of 60 frames/sec per eye in 3D mode…..this system required the use of the older, heavier, uncomfortable IR 3D glasses whose flicker in a bright lighted room was annoying, my spouse rarely got through a whole movie without taking a break…….viewing was particularly sensitive to left/right tilting of the head which introduced cross talk and changes in light levels between eyes…….. 3D viewing was just OK.Upgraded to a KDL70W850B which uses the Sony active Bluetooth RF system and a 480 Hz motion flow rate with Image blur reduction which doubles effective rate to 120 frames/sec. per eye in 3D. The set came with the older TDG-BT400A 3D glasses but manual integral in the TV software specified BT500A replacements. The difference between the old and new system is dramatic……lightweight glasses with easily changeable battery, …..removable nose piece for Rx glasses users for a great fit……….no critical line of sight requirement with the IR transmitter in the TV…….no critical leveling of the head to prevent crosstalk and lighting changes.Watched all my 3D movies again on the newer system and the experience is no longer just OK; it is incredible…even the spouse agrees and can now sit through a whole movie without taking a break…….finally an impressive 3D viewing experience……viewing is no longer hampered by frame flickering or weight of the glasses……and a more pleasing and realistic depth of view focus of objects on the screen.

We Love Them!

Bought these to work with my Sony XBR75X850C smart TV. I’ve watched several 3D movies using these glasses and I am very satisfied with their performance. They sync up to the TV quickly and the quality of the 3D is great - probably better than what you experience in the theater. The nose pieces come off so you can wear them over your prescription glasses.I also ordered a storage case that can hold four pairs of these glasses. That many pairs of these glasses will set you back a bit, so storing them in a nice soft case is cheap insurance against them getting broken while not in use.If you have a smart TV that requires active 3D glasses, these are a great choice, and they are made by Sony, so they are made to last. I would definitely recommend these to anyone needing active 3D glasses. However, they are getting harder and harder to find as most TVs are using passive 3D technology which I feel is not as good as the active technology.

Picture is good. 3D is very clear

Work perfectly with SONY XBR65X850C 65” 4K TV. No headaches. Picture is good. 3D is very clear. Tested using avengers and avatar. Worth every penny!

works great with Sony XDR ultrahigh definition 4K television 65 inch 930 X model

works great with new Sony XDR ultra high definition 4K television 930X model. 65 inch 930X

Great buy

Work perfectly with Bravia XBR65x930D

Perfect and will be cheaper for you in the long run!!

I recommend these over the rechargeable kind(unfortunately I got the kind you can’t replace the battery and two pair barely lasted a year, but those that can are even more expensive than the watch battery you will have to replace on these) because replacing the batteries are easier than having to replace the whole glasses because you can only recharge a battery so much before it dies. They paired with the TV so easily, no having to go into Bluetooth setting at least on my Bravia 3D! They work great!! I wear glasses normally so taking off the little rubber nose piece was not big deal and putting them back on was just as easy!!

Good glasses for my Sony but disappointing how easily the arms break with stupid accidents even though I have a good twin 3D storage case.the arms come unscrewed so it would be nice if support department had an extra supply of them they could ship out to replace broken ones instead of having to go through the process of returning them and waiting on new purchase to arive

I’m sure these are fake!

Came in a flimsy generic white box that wasn’t even sealed. The instructions are a printed page. These were supposed to be a gift. I’m not even sure these will work.

Five Stars

as advertised new in box.

One Star

Doesn’t work on my TV

Work perfect

They work perfect on my Sony 930D 65 inch TV. Exactly the same ones i bought at a big name store. I love watching 3d moves at home.

Five Stars

Exactly as described. Works perfectly.

What a disappointment that we can’t find any active 3D glasses that …

I have a Sony Bravia XRB-55X850B. These do not work despite the seller saying these would. Neither did the ones that came with the TV originally.

3d glasses

The nose silicone piece of the glasses comes off and gets lost very easily. I have 5 of them and only two of them still have the nosepiece.

Five Stars

Great glasses worked as advertised.

For anyone having trouble syncching glasses to TV, try FRESH battery. Also, instructions say to just turn on TV. Make sure TV is broadcasting 3D.
