4K comes to your living room at an affordable price
This was a Cyber Monday purchase for me, thanks to the fact that my trusty 43” 1080i *yup, i not p) plasma just isn’t cutting it anymore. That old faithful lasted for the best part of a decade, but with 4K Ultra here, I really wanted to upgrade. To be clear, in order to play 4K discs, I also had to invest in a 4K player and a suitable HDMI cable, which added another $300 to the price tag, but it was money well spent. The image is incredibly clear; when watching “The Martian” in 4K, it seems as if every single grain of sand is visible to the eye. I’ll be purchasing as many future discs in 4K as I can.The TV itself worked perfectly out of the box. It was easy to attach to its stand and connect up, being significantly lighter than my last TV. There are plenty of HDMI connectors, although be aware that only two of them (#2 and #3) will accept 4K input, which is more than sufficient. Setup was painless, taking less than twenty minutes until the device was up and running. Blu Rays and 1080p Netflix/Amazon streaming movies and TV shows are clear and crisp, making the TV a joy to watch. The remote is simple and intuitive, and controls my Blu Ray player should I choose to do so.If This TV has a weakness, it is probably the speakers. They’re by no means bad, but they’re also a little on the tinny side. A surround sound setup will be my next purchase, to redress that issue.I have no hesitation at recommending this unit.
Fantastic TV for the money
We got this during Prime days for $499 and it’s an awesome TV for that price. PROS: crystal clea, easy to set up, SMART capabilities are very good CONS: I’ve noticed a slight stutter on high action scenes (60hz native response w/upscaling - wish it was 120hz but for $500 still awesome) and the remote is a tad flimsy. If it ends up being as reliable as Sony products have been in the past it probably is five-star’s if you’re not a hardcore gamer or something like that
Perfect 4K at a very good price!
Perfect 4K at a very good price - had some shipping issues with punctured boxes and the first one delivered was shattered in shipping. Second one is working fine and with Sony 4K UHD player & discs is superb picture! Very pleased with this TV, other than shipping issues. Another very good reason to use Amazon Prime with free returns.
Swingin Deal
Didn’t really know what to expect after reading the reviews. However, I can enable hdr on my PlayStation pro. And the picture seems great. At times it may seem washed out, or dull, but if you adjust your picture settings this could be your favorite TV, especially getting it for $500.
Has a great picture quality
Has a great picture quality! We had a problem with the apps having no sound when we first set it up but we contacted Sony and they helped us correct the problem. I’m giving it four stars because we had to contact them to fix it. Nowhere online or in their manuals does it tell you to unplug the tv to reboot..
worth every penny
I know I am buying something a year old… i mean a new 2016 model… but on the counter side its sony and the product which worth in gold if you get a good deal. HD graphics are at par and for home use I dont thing 2017 model makes such a difference that I can empty another 500+ for it.I am glad that I took the right call.
