Product Reviews

The TV itself is amazing. So far I love everything about it

The TV itself is amazing. So far I love everything about it. Picture quality is excellent for my standards. Just beware that the base supplied by Sony is total garbage. It is very short, flimsy, and provides NO support whatsoever. The TV will wobble while attached to the base, and will also lean backwards. Just plan on another mounting set-up when purchasing this TV.

Awsome

I tryed the amazon TV but it was junk. Switched to sony and I love it. Hook up your Echo and you have the same thing but it works.

Like having an IMAX in your living room!

WOW! What a TV, it’s like having an IMAX in your living room! I purchased from another vendor due to better pricing but let me say this TV upscaling is great while watching 1080p content and the 4K UHD is out of this world!

I had purchased the wall mount service from Amazon itself and I was extremely happy with the quality of service

I made this purchase after much deliberation. I had short listed this product and the Samsung curved, price wise I believe there was just a $100 difference (Sony being higher). Being a old fan of the Sony brand, I was little biased towards this brand. The product took about 2 weeks for delivery, was delivered & installed on the TV stand by the same people who delivered. Very professional service.I had purchased the wall mount service from Amazon itself and I was extremely happy with the quality of service. The technician came right the next day, did the installation in about an hour. Was little bummed when I came to know that Comcast doesn’t yet stream in 4K. But in comparison to my old Phillips (10 year old 35 inch) obviously the picture quality & overall experience is stunning.I have an Sony google TV and the setup took less than 15 min to complete. One issue that I noticed is that the Sony TV remote guide although display the TV guide, it is not changing the channels. I am still researching, it is possible the way my setup is.I will post some more reviews in a while to share my experience.

Pretty happy with this TV

Pretty happy with this TV, but I have a couple of issues.First, the menu screen is a bit sluggish. Hit the button, maybe half a second delay. Not the end of the world, but not happy over it.Second, using the IR Blaster in conjunction with a Tivo, I was amazed and happy, that I could stick with one remote, and have it control the Tivo, meaning we could continue to use our Tivo while enjoying the more advanced features on the TV. This is a bit difficult, as the TV does not offer all the options of the Tivo remote. So if I want info, from the Tivo, I can’t get it. If I want to exit “My Tivo” menu, I can’t do it. (Or I just don’t know how I would yet, perhaps somewhere in the action menu for that input).Lastly, the guide data. The guide data is wrong, and the choices are poor. There is no way to edit it. I enter in my zip code, I get a few choices, all of them are slightly incorrect at the first 10-15 channels. Choosing “I don’t see it” just ends the selection process. I’d like to be able to pick one, and just edit the channel list for what I actually have. The picture is great, the build is great. So we are enjoying this TV outside of a few hiccups. Hopefully this will be corrected in the future, without me having to look into a harmony remote or something similar (in regards to the remote issues).

I purchased this TV from another store for better price and no tax

I purchased this TV from another store for better price and no tax.I mounted it on the wall with a full motion mount. It is super nice.Great picture, Great sound and looks awesome.

Great picture, BUT.

None of the technical jargon others go into, just a regular guy’s thoughts and opinions. Great picture, BUT… looking at TV straight away is perfection but as you sit to an angle moving left or right, the further you move away from center shows clouding which is a real turn off for such a nice and pricey set. If you have no other family or guest watching, it’s great at dead center. I bought the 65” and it was a really big jump from my 52” Sony KDL52XBR4 Bravia. This IS a very bright TV if you are upgrading from a 6-8 year old set. It’s almost like a flashlight staring at you. There are some settings that tone it down… but be prepared. Just like when HD came out, there wasn’t a lot of inventory to watch, same with 4k. I was able to find 4k with YouTube and 4k is excellent! As far as up-scaling… Five Stars. my Comcast cable is upgraded about 20% to a super nice sharp picture. I also have an antenna that has an excellent pure clean HD picture now. BluRay player also has also been great at up-scaling my regular home-made DVD’s If not for the clouding I would give it a 5 Star. I ended up returning because of the clouding at angle which made the TV useless (to me) for viewing and also the Super Nova brightness I just couldn’t take.

Sony 4k tv is the best.

Great 4k tv. Sony’s colors are more nature and it’s not over blown like Samsung. The TV also does a great job upconverting non 4k contents. 4k contents from 4k bluray player looks Sharp and clear, Netflix 4K looks great too, but you have to have good bandwidth and pay the higher tier in order to get native 4k content. The only complaint is black is not as black as higher models of Sony line with local dimming. But it’s good enough compare to other 4k out there. Watching a movie on this TV compare to my 1080p is like day and night. I also bought a LG OLED to compare and the OLED has great black level put motion blur is not great, if you over adjust to high the picture look soaparaish and if it’s set too low you get blur. I personally don’t like Webos on LG with the pointer. Also I could not justify the price of OLED for what you get. This Sony has a good balance between price and picture quality.

Totally as advertised

Excellent in all regards.

Disappointed in Sony TV for the first time

I’ve had 3 Sony TVs in the last 8 years. This is my 4th. I have loved every one of them… Until now. The menus lag heavily at times.

SONY - NEVER AGAIN!

We purchased this Sony model and it has already died on us. It is less than 1.5 years old and, of course, Sony won’t do anything about it.

Beautiful tv in every way

Beautiful tv in every way. Just got it yesterday so will have to wait to give a more complete review. Was very easy to set up. This is our very first HD smart tv.

Five Stars
