I bought this controller mainly due to the built-in USB 5V 2A outputs. It jas worked very well with one exceptipn. I have a separate voltage display stuck to my battery and saw one day the voltage was up to 16.2 volts. It was supposed to cut off charging at 14.7. Some how it had switched from 12V to 24V system and was trying to charge up to 30V. Pressing MENU and trying to lower voltage only brought it down to 22. I had to disconnect panel and battery to reset the control to 12V system. We had had a thunderstorm the night before. Maybe the lightning flashes had some effect. Update: the 5V usb Jack’s quit working.
These work and do the job but ate not efficient. There is MPPT charge technology out there which use <96% of the energy while these cheap ones will only get around 50-60%. So you are wasting alot of your much needed energy on this outdated technology. but they work!
It lasted 4 months. There was no warranty info at the time of purchase.Sun YOBA Solar Charge Controller Solar Controller 20A 12V 24V with Dual USB 5V

It is great for what I needed it to do no problems with it.
comments powered by DisqusThe quality of this product seemed fine. It’s the instructions that were absolutely horrid. Maybe if you are an electrical engineer you can understand them, but for an average joe like me, not so much. I couldn’t get it to charge my battery and I’m sure it’s because I didn’t have it on the right settings, but I tried everything I could think of and nothing worked. So I sent it back, which was almost pointless because they charged me for return shipping which left me with about 75% of the original purchase price. I guess getting something back is better than nothing.
