Product Description

500mm / 1000mm f/8 Manual Focus Lens is a classic refractor-style T-mount lens, with an aperture diaphragm in the middle of the lens body to stop down the aperture when necessary. However, it is assumed that much of the shooting with such a lens will be at its maximum f/8.0 aperture, with a tripod, monopod, or other such support. The included 2x doubler converts this 500mm lens into a 1000mm.

When combined with the included T-mount to fit your camera system, this super telephoto works on both “full frame” cameras as well as the “APS-C” style digital SLR cameras. You can use the lens in “M” manual exposure mode or “A” aperture-priority mode only. This lens’ sophisticated achromatic refractor design yields images with pleasing peak contrast and well controlled flare. It can be used at maximum aperture on a very bright day for some images of moving subjects.

Great Purchase!

I bought this lens for my Canon EOS Rebel T3 with the Canon EF version. I am very impressed. I only have a normal 18-55mm lens and a 75-300mm lens for my camera. I wanted to get farther shots, so I researched a little. I was conflicted because there were some lenses that were thousands of dollars, and some, like this one, that are very nicely priced compared to those. I bought it to see how it would work out.Please Note: I am not an advanced photographer, so I don’t know a lot of technical terms.Also, I just got this lens the day I am posting this. I didn’t expect all of the little goodies, so it was a nice surprise.About the Lens:The lens is great. It is manual, so it is time for me to improve in that area. It is sensitive to light. Bright and sunny days are great because this lens provides fast response. It is slower in darker areas, so a tripod would be very useful at those times. If you like to vary your distances for shots, this lens only has a 500mm and 1000mm setting. There isn’t an in between, so please be aware of that.All in all, for only about $100, I feel like this was an awesome deal. I am very happy with my purchase.For the two pictures attached, they were both taken with the 2.0x converter.

Solid and good value for money!!!

Good value for money!!! It’s solid, it really works and the price is right for a beginner, or someone who does not want to invest a lot for the occasional telephoto shots. I’m surprised at the quality of the pictures that I took on a clear day and with the aid of a tripod. I knew that for the price, I was not getting Auto Focus and Image Stabilization functions and so I was ready for it.

I’d love to review but you have to buy another T mount for it….dumb, dumb, dumb…why would you sell this without stating that you need another tmount. I get that the t mount is specific to the camera but this should be more clear up front for a novice. Parts seem to be good quality, will update once I get what I need to attach to camera.

Works great on my Canon D80

Works great on my Canon D80, took some pictures of the moon that turned out ok. Need to have a very steady hand or a good quality tripod. I used a light weight tripod on the body with a unipod on the camera. took away to get it setup.

Shooting pictures of birds is easier with this lens,but the magnifier doesn’t fit as tight as it should. A second tripod is definitely needed to keep this balanced, because hand-held is tricky.

Don’t move!

Great product! Really brings images in. I wouldn’t recommend it for action shots, but if you take enough shots you will get a couple great shots.

Couldn’t get it to focus ever and within a week it broke. I ended up throwing it in the trash. Also didn’t come with any directions

I am actually having fun with this. For the price, you can’t expect National Geographic quality photographs. The further away the subject, the better the results.
