Enriched story with all-star voice actors
Platform:Nintendo Switch | Edition:Standard Super Bomberman R makes full use of the Nintendo Switch system capabilities, which enables gamers to play wherever, whenever and with whomever they choose. Super Bomberman R offers a ‘Battle’ mode where up to eight players are dropped within a maze until the ‘last man standing’ is declared the winner. There is also a ‘Story’ mode where one to two players work cooperatively to clear a series of 50 stages in order to save the galaxy.
It’s a solid entry in the Bomberman series, but doesn’t deserve to be at the $50 price-tag. The Prime savings for release day helps, but this game should really be a $20-30 entry in the series. Bomberman Live on the 360 was a fully packaged Bomberman title, this falls a bit short of that and leaves you wanting more.
With the release of the latest patch this game is just great. With computer opponents on the new weak setting they don’t totally dominate multiplayer and it is so much fun(especially with 2-3 other people playing locally). The controls are spot on now and the graphics/framerate are great. I finished a run through story mode and the levels only taking coins a couple times to continue means you end up with a decent amount of coins as a reward after finishing a world even if you die a bunch in the process. For me the game went from 2-3 stars as it was initially released to 4-5 stars now. The plot and voice work in the story mode is still cheesy but the game play is tons of fun and it’s a big hit with my whole family now (my wife was even joining in for multiplayer battles)
If anything, the hilarious and awesome multiplayer is worth getting this game. $50 may be a little steep.. luckily I was able to get this at $40 with prime, making it more of a deal. There is definitely a lot of replay-ability here. Challenging story mode as well. I’d recommend this, at least for the $40 price tag I purchased this at.
I’ve played many bomberman games. I’ve loved many, some not so much, but always remained a fan. Super Bomberman R is truly the revival of Bomberman, for this is the first actual packaged Bomberman game to arrive in stores in almost a decade. It’s overall a pretty solid game. Works great if you have friends to play it with. If not, story mode is just as exciting, as you get to explore the colorful world of Bomberman and enjoy some silly scenes with full voice acting. Now to me, this game is more like classic Bomberman with a twist, still run the mazes defeating enemies with new enemies, bosses, and obstacles. I hope this game becomes successful enough to at least have Konami make another Bomberman game as time goes by.
Great game love that I can play it with my friends and family it’s competitive and fun for family and not hard to play but will keep you on your toes have fun gaming. This is a Great game to have for your switch! Great for all ages. I love that Old arcade style gaming is back.
Once you get into this game - its super fun. To me, its totally worth it and must buy. I own few other switch games and this is the funnest. I play this all the time with my 5yr old and enjoy playing against him and the computer.
It’s Bomberman and I love it. I wish they didn’t include the gems (in game currency) and the price is too high so I docked a star for those complaints. Otherwise, it’s fun, especially when playing with others.
It is a fun game to play with friends, it is a recollection of the old Bomber man and if you are a fan of the saga you will be more than happy but the game is not a Master piece, only a good game
I have really enjoyed the game, playing alone for the first days and then playing with 3 friends, but it wears out after a short time.
Love it! How I missed playing Bomberman.
Coming from someone that bought this game at its full $50 price tag, I don’t regret it at all. The multiplayer in this game is an absolute blast, and offers up to 8-player…
I bought this game in the hope that it would remind of the good ole days play the Sega Saturn with my siblings. I was sorely disappointed. The story mode is okay.
it is really interesting! I always play it with my boyfriend.
Great Game for the Switch
Super Bomberman R feels like a cash-grab of a launch title. It is completely unpolished, the controls are clunky even after an update intended to tighten them, the single player…
Fun multiplayer game
The online multiplayer experience that I was looking for could not be achieved due to the unplayable lag.
