Exact Replacement Adapter

This AC adapter is the main power source for my SONY ICF-SW7600GR radio which I use for shortwave listening and as a back up for weather emergencies during hurricane season. Since SONY no longer makes the AC adapter directly related to their SW radio, this was a great find for operating the radio without having to constantly replace batteries. It was an exact fit in terms of the electrical connector and specified voltage and power. I would consider buying another as a backup and as a spare to keep in my office.

I couldn’t be happier!

A friend gave me a Tascam DP-008 Pocket Studio but had misplaced the AC adapter. It’s a handy little recorder but eats up 4 AA batteries in roughly 1 hour of use. If I remember correctly, the official Tascam adapter that comes with this thing was like $20… After a bit of searching, I found this one here at Amazon for nearly half the price.I received this today and am happy to announce that, YES, it works as advertised! No more spending tons of money on AA’s!

Other similar AC adapters I had didn’t work. This one does!

I bought this for my Tascam DP-006 multitrack recorder. I had other AC adapters lying around that had the same specs and what appears to be the same tip (visibly speaking) but they did not work. I was completely baffled, so I really didn’t expect this to work…but it does!!!! I still don’t know why the others don’t work on this recorder. I’m very happy this one works great.

way better than batteries

I had a rascal dp004 for several years. The batteries would hold a charge for like 45 minutes and then crape out,leaved nh me in the middle of my one man jam session. Now with this plug I no longer get frustrated by my four track, I only become frustrated by my lack of talent. Long story short pick this power supply up, it could save your life.

Good cord, doesn’t need the blue LED though

Cord does exactly what it is supposed to do. It has an LED that burns constantly when plugged in. For some reason, this bugs me, as I feel it’s using power constantly, regardless of whether I’m using the unit. For this reason I plug it in only when I need to use it. Others may love the light show, so cool. Regardless, good cable.

Buy a different power supply

This is a cheap piece of garbage. The male input connector tube diameter is too small and it wobbles inside of the female connector of the unit it is powering. I bought it to power a Tascam DP-008ex digital recorder. It is almost impossible to keep the recorder powered because any slight movement disturbs the too small power connector, and the recorder shuts down…losing all the settings and data. Currently, I’m using batteries. Buy a different power supply.
