I had read reviews of TCL’s 2017 lineup of TVs and I decided to buy one when it was time to upgrade our old 1080p 52” TV. I settled on this 55” 4K LED TV with HDR. The price was amazing for the quality of the television. I must say the picture is superb. It will not disappoint in the least. I particularly like the way they have incorporated the Roku, which we already used, into the TV. It even scans for channels on your antenna and puts an icon on the Roku screen to quickly switch to the broadcast side. The picture is very watchable right out of the box but some tweaking makes it even more beautiful. Here are the settings I have:Brightness: DarkerPicture Mode: MovieBacklight: 85Brightness: 54Contrast: 90Sharpness: 5Color: 50Tint: 0Color Temp: WarmPicture Size: AutoI hope this is a help to someone and that you enjoy your new TV. We certainly are.
Got the set a week ago but didn’t get it hung by capable professionals until today. I am no videophile so nitpicking isn’t what I do. Some people will say this thing is edge-lit and therefore no good (compared to FALD, for example). However, let me just say that I would know a problem if I saw one and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it out of the box. playing without any adjustments. I’ve been using Roku a few years so there’s nothing new there except for the fact that it is nicely integrated into the set. I have yet to hook it up to 5.1 system but the TV’s speakers are doing a fine job.Any you know what? The best thing about this set is the aesthetic value. It’s a thing of beauty that’s even got the installers saying they want one. That says it all!!!The attached picture is where the set is hung, between two bright windows. Another huge window to the right.
I have only had mine for a day so take this with a grain of salt.So far it has been fantastic. I have tested the HDR with with actual 4k blurays and a uhd bluray player. The interface is easy to use. I have never used roku before but it was extremely easy to get a handle on. The picture quality is great. It honestly is a great deal. I have also watched 1080p content from sources like Crunchyroll and Funimation on it and the up-scaling looks fantastic as well. So far it has been a great experience. Very easy to set up.
Almost zero latency from the controller. Incredibly responsive.Do think that it will look more aesthetically pleasing mounted than it currently does on its legs. The darks are definitely not as dark as those on the P series, but the C series is a significantly more aesthetically pleasing television. Seemingly a tradeoff between elegance and contrast (though the C series is no slouch overall when it comes to picture).Sound is pretty good out-of-the-box.Just listing my thoughts - overall a fantastic television so far.
good picture and sound. i wish there was an additional audio in jack and hdmi.
This TCL TV has a great picture, smooth sound, and seamless built-in connectivity to Roku app.
Amazing! Well worth the money!
Though I Searched for the smaller model, I ‘settled’ for this bigger one; 55” seems to be the only size available at the moment. What a delight … as good or better than anything I can remember seeing. Price was not too bad, considering the absolutely superb 4k video quality and technology, either. I agree with Review comments, regarding off-axis viewing … `seems to be a function of the LED technology, rather than peculiar to any manufacturer. But, on-axis … W o W ! … an absolute delight. At first startup, it detected available software updates … and installed them with no issues whatever. The ‘smart’ operating system operates nearly instantly, a noticeable improvement from my previous (Panasonic Viera). The remote control is deliberately sparse - a welcome alternative to common mega-controls. There’s a commonality to the approach across input Sources; put on your thinking-cap, get used to it and you’ll find it refreshingly stress-free upon familiarity.Though I have auxiliary speakers and often read disparaging comments about flat-panel TV speakers, I find the built-in speakers surprisingly (to me) Good. Especially when listening to just talking, I find myself omitting turning on the auxiliary speakers and just listening to the built-in speakers. I’m, also, surprised that, even in the LARGE room, I need not turn the built-in speakers volume up to more than 20 - 30%, usually. The speakers are located on the bottom and face the viewer/listener. As flat-screen TV speakers go, these strike me as the BEST I’ve heard!Would I re-buy it? … without a moment’s hesitation. Don’t you hesitate, either; if you’re disappointed, I’d be shocked.
I was kinda hesitant to go with the TCL 65C807 because I hadn’t heard of the brand before, but I ended up purchasing it anyway because the price was good and the specs seemed…
Let me start out this review by saying I am not TV expert.I picked this TV up over 1 month ago.
I keep my parents electronics running. After looking at all options I decided on this TV/TV BOX/computer? as a solution to down time.
I could not be happier with this purchase. It was breeze to set up and as others have indicated, the Roku software makes it easy to use and find whatever I want to watch.
This is a great, affordable tv. Beautiful picture and sounds great.
Love
Tv is great. Picture is superb. Roku os it’s a bit clunky and offers hardly anything in there way of parental controls and just says to rely on each app for that.
Wow, out of the box this set slams anything in it’s class hands down. Amazing picture and all the bells and whistles you could ask for.
So far so good. Easy to set up. Picture is great! I’m running it through a receiver. Using only the HDMI/ ARC connection.
