The Clapper will turn lamp with any sound, like my dog barking. It’s kind of a bummer because our light will be on at times when it does not need to be. Purchase for my daughter, she says it’s okay.
Hmm…you have to find the sweet spot with these clippers. There IS a learning curve. Clap too fast…wrong. Clap too slow…wrong. Loudness doesn’t matter. My bed ridden mother is patient though and appreciates not having to ask for the light to be turned on or off.
Great for reading in bed when you don’t have a lamb close only a ceiling light. But it is a bit sensitive to other noise.
Works just as you would expect. We ordered this for our teenage daughter who likes to read late into the night and then just fall asleep. The light is across the room so this is the most convenient product for her. Be aware and this is not a bug but a feature, doggie steps that are loud on hard word floors and snapping fingers also activates the switch.
It’s working great so far! I ordered one for tube lights where the outlet is difficult to reach and it makes things much more convenient. I would definitely recommend to a friend. Even as a joke, it’s still a very useful gift!
the clapper gets turned on and off by the cat playing. other than that it is handy
This brought so much joy to my romantic partner. He always wanted one and spent the night attempting to turn the light off and on with any variation of clap he could think of, including spanking himself. The Clapper is pretty picky about the exact tempo you use to clap it on or off. Other than that, it’s great!
This gets four stars because of the polarizing feelings my wife have toward it. She awards 5 stars because it works well and is responsive and she likes being about to turn the lights on/off without getting out of bed. I’m not a huge fan and would rate it a 2 because I find it TOO responsive and random other noises or bushing past it will also trigger it. You’ll find the lights or whatever you plug into it constantly turning on and off when you least want it to. Furthermore, if you don’t get a consistent clap pattern going it just doesn’t listen to you. Not for the OCD. But, the wife is pleased with it, so 4 stars it is.
love this silly old device. It works perfectly.
They do not work well if furniture is in front of plug in
Didn’t work no matter what outlet we tried so we returned it.
The Clapper is very helpful but it takes a forceful clap. I have thin hands so i have to work at it.
I like the functionality, but hate the power usage. I used my watt meter to measure amount of power consumed with nothing turned on, or plugged in.
I bought the clapper as a fun gift for my husband for Father’s Day and it’s a good thing I didn’t expect much because it met my expectations.
Really sensitive to more noise then the original.
Does not work great. Your claps have to be just so. You may clap ten times or more before getting the light to respond. :P
I have a wood floor , so it has activated when I made a little squeaky noise . It drove me crazy.
