Meh.

So. I got the open face version (since the reviews can’t seem to distinguish between the offerings). The best thing i can say about it is “it was $7”. Other than that, its pretty “meh”. Its thin enough you can see dim light through the material. The face opening is pretty big, meaning it doesn’t fit snuggly to my face to keep errant wind out (and I have a pretty big head). So I don’t have an enormous amount of faith it will keep my head warm on the cold, windy days. It does fit seamlessly into a motorcycle helmet, so there’s that. Finally a balaclava that makes me happy.

This balaclava is very nice! I have several and this is my new favorite. I’ve worn it for about 5 hours so far and been very comfortable. I wear a light weight Gortex baseball style cap over it to benefit from the second layer and sun visor. It is so thin that it doesn’t cause the cap to be too snug. This is a really big deal to me. It has been in the single digits and blowing snow here in mid Michigan. I was out on my open tractor for over an hour on two occasions and this kept me very comfortable. I wear it inside if I’m going back out in a half hour or so or if I’m in and out. With it pulled down around my neck it is very comfortable inside the shop. It is very easy to then pull back up when I go out side. It is simply the best balaclava I’ve used so far. I love the fact that is so thin I can keep it in my coat pocket. I plan on buying another one to keep in my dress coat. I was going to knock it down to 4 stars because my glasses fog up with just normal breathing but I just couldn’t do it so it gets the 5. If I could wear my glasses without out them fogging up It would be 6 stars!READ MORE

Great for Skiing/Snowmobiling

I really enjoyed wearing this balaclava during my most recent ski trip to Montana. The different patches of fabric allow you to breathe through your mouth without the fabric getting as damp as most face guards. I also used this during a snowmobiling tour and found it to be just the right amount of wind resistance without fogging up your goggles due to exhaling moisture in your breathe. good enough

i wear a medium in most helmets, that said, it fits a little loose. i bought it for cycling, and while it’s on the thick side, it fits under my helmet fine. i have vented glasses but they get fogged up big time when wearing the mask all the way up. when you pull it down on the chin, it fits really well and keeps your neck warm. also, i have a big nose and it didn’t feel too snug, probably because of my medium head. i’ve tried a couple of different balaclavas and had the same results. it’s priced well and it’s a quality product. no sense in buying an expensive one, this one will do what it’s supposed to do. the limitation of these products seems to be breathing without fogging glasses. this responsibility falls more on the companies that make glasses if you ask me. how hard is it to make anti-fog glasses? make them and i’ll buy them please thank you :-)READ MORE

It works

I use it as wind protection when riding my motorcycle and it works well for that purpose. It doesn’t make my goggles or glasses fog too much and when they do they seem to clear quickly. Good quality product

So far, so good. I purchased this product for my son and myself for an upcoming ski trip, and the quality of the product is very good. It fits both me and my son’s (15 year old, both average size heads) heads, is comfortable and breathable while seemingly thick enough to provide some measure of warmth and protection for December skiing.As of the time of this review, have not taken it out on the slopes yet… but will provide additional feedback after the trip, but am very pleased with the product so far.READ MORE
