I got this for reading camera SD cards. It works great on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 (Android 5.1.1), but didn’t work at all on my Moto Droid Turbo (Android 5.1) and Moto G 3rd gen (Android 6.0). I know it’s possible to make a gadget like this that does work on both; I have an earlier model of the LDesign 4-in-1 USB OTG reader and it works fine on those devices.Other than the compatibility issues, it’s will made, small, and the short cable means you can plug it in even if your device is wearing a case.P.S. Compatibility glitches seem to be common with these kinds of gadgets. I also purchased a similar MXtechnic OTG card reader and it has exactly the opposite problem - it works on the Moto devices but it doesn’t work on the Galaxy Tab S2.
I completely forgot that this device is only using micro usb 2.0. I thought I could use this for my Note 3.All I can say is that this works well for my tab pro 10.1. I just quickly used it to check if it reads. I plugged in the sdhc card and I was able to read it. The same goes with the USB flash drive. I already connected them before I connected the device into the tablet’s charging port. I noticed that the connector is a bit snug. A little pressure needs to be exerted to put it into the charging port.I haven’t tried plugging in the USB and the sdhc at the same time. My guess is it won’t work. I’m not sure about it.To disconnect, make sure you unmount this device as if it’s a memory card inserted directly into the device to prevent any damage to the card/USB itself.
Works perfectly with my Samsung Galaxy Tab S and my Samsung Galaxy S4 phone.UPDATE: Had not used since initial test when it seemed to work well. Put it away and didn’t use it again. Tried to use it about a week later on the first day of overseas vacation. No longer reads SD cards at all. USB is hit and miss. Disappointed as I planned to use it to transfer photos to my tablet.
Works perfectly with my Dell Venue Pro 8. I use it to look at 15-20 SD cards of pictures from game cameras, several thousand pictures every week or two. I though the cable would be floppy, but it’s not. It has enough “body” that the reader sits above the edge of the tablet like a little antenna. It’s firm enough that I can get the cards into and out of the reader without it wobbling all over the place, but flexible enough that I’m not worried about it damaging the USB port on the tablet if I do move it around a bit.
I purchased this for my dad. When travels to go hunting, he likes to get the SD cards out of the trail-cams and view the pictures. The problem was that he was having to go all the way to a Walmart photo center just to look at the pictures. Now with this adapter, he can look at them right on his smartphone.PROs:Feels SolidSmallPortableAttractiveCONs:Takes a while to read the photos if there are more than 20.
Doesn’t work with all phones. Tried it on two different ones. The app says it won’t work with any nexus devices. The cknbatibilylist isn’t posted on this amazon description. You only learn about it after the purchase. Motorola devices are not on the combatible list either. This is a total waste of money. Don’t buy.
I love this little thing. If you have an Android device and are a photographer with a DSLR camera, YOU HAVE to have this thing if you want to do any type of Social Media sharing on the go! It works perfect and is pretty fast too! Great for when I’m on vacation and don’t want to lug my laptop with me and can just pull the SD card and throw this on my phone and boom, instantly have the photos on my phone so I can upload to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc. A great purchase at a great price point
This thing is awesome! My only gripe was that the software they claimed could be downloaded and used with the device didn’t work (?) but I read other reviews and found that the Nexus photo viewer works as well as the OTG Disk Explorer in the Google Play Store. In fact, I have some downloaded movies on a microSD and with the paid version of OTG, I can watch movies on my tablet. Works a treat with pictures on SD from my Canon Rebel. I plug it up to my cell phone and then I can instantly edit or post pictures. Price was incredible for all it truly does. It has a USB slot for a flash drive, a microSD slot, and a regular SD card slot. This will travel with me for sure.
Worked as advertised. Happy
I have viewed & downloaded thousands of pics from trail cams using this reader
I bought this to be able to view photos on my Kindle Fire. When I travel I don’t take my laptop with me but I like to view my photos before I get home.
Amazing! It works like a charm and it is durable and has not failed me once. Very good quality and performance for the price.
Works well on my older tablet Galaxy Tab S, SM-T800, but not on my Galaxy S8 plus. It gives an error, Port has moisture. Sucks. I really needed to work more on my phone.
Great to transfer pictures from phone to computer
I love this card reader, I am able to use a mouse on my Samsung Galaxy 18in Tablet now. All i had to do was plug it into the tablet and it worked right away.
WORKS GREAT
Perfect for my needs. Fast delivery
