What do you want for $7? FUN buy!!! Cheaply made (and priced) - perfect for a young child who is going to lose pieces!

As the price should indicate to you this is a VERY cheap version of the game. It is ideal for a 4 or 5 year old who is likely to lose pieces.Pros: Affordability priced! Can’t say this enough! FUN! My 5 year old wants to play this NON-STOP!Cons: VERY cheaply made. It is a thin injection molded piece of plastic with a “pop-o-matic” (pom) built into the middle. Even the “pom” is much cheaper than the original which sometimes allows the die to land on the same side multiple times. It’s so cheaply made that even the piece of construction paper which the graphics are printed on comes assembled. The pieces are loose on the board and fall off if someone bumps the board.Would I recommend you buy this? ABSOLUTELY! What do you want for seven bucks? You get what you pay for. When compared to the full / quality version of this game it’s a 1 star at best. But when compared with the price it’s a 4.5 star. It’s tons of fun to play with your wee-ones!

Expectations of a cheaper game

Remember the price when you get this. For such a cheap price, this game isn’t what I expected. You have to put the top cover on the game, it doesn’t stick on. Just thin cardboard for the main part of the game on plain black plastic. The pieces have no where to go when putting it away. So a sandwich baggie is needed to keep pieces together. It feels cheap, but for the price you have to expect it. Great for a game for young children. That way if it does get ruined it isn’t so hard on the wallet.

Trouble is as trouble does…

My 7 year old requested this game. I had a similar one growing up (it was called Frustration) and loved it so I decided to buy this for him. This was definitely not as durable as I remember Frustration being. The card board part that clips into the actual game board is hard to clip in and some what protrudes from the board. Also, when you pop the bubble (to flip the dice) game pieces actually move (which I somewhat contribute to the poor design of the card board part not properly clipping into the game board)….Oy…I should have gotten Frustration…same concept, but a way better design….My son likes it though–so there’s 3 stars from him.

Still a classic

This game is not as sturdy as it used to be. The quality has diminished. With rambunctious kiddos the pegs kept falling over when they went to push the popper because they were so excited. However, it is a fun game still. I like the new power up spaces. My 5 year olds had no problem playing and understanding the concept. Still a classic.

Prefer an older version

This version of the game has a thin cardboard printed game board that sits on the plastic base. The markers have holes in the bottom that fit onto pegs as you move around the board. I prefer the original more traditional version where your markers nestled into a little well for each spot. I should have paid more for a version that I liked.

The game is great. we play almost every night when we sit …

The game is great.we play almost every night when we sit down to have dinner. Which brings me to the 2 star rating. In this day and age of making everything cheaper, the board is printed on paper thinner than card stock and sits on top of the frame. It is also not laminated in any way. All of this makes it easy to etc dirty with no good way to clean it without ruining it.

Same great game, quaility not the same.

fun game, but I can’t believe how cheep they have made this game now. Its so small and the pieces are small, the dome on mine already looks stressed, not a crack, but you can see a line in the plastic bubble. It still plays the same and this is still fun game, we’ll play and like it. But I have to say I was taken aback when I opened the box, which by the way is more poster board than cardboard. My brother was over and the first thing he said was wow they really cheapened it up-I told him he read my mind.

It’s not what it used to be.

First off I’ll start by saying this version of trouble is a far cry from its 90’s counterpart, I remember having a blast with trouble and thought our 4 year old would enjoy it too since she loves board games. The board comes as a blank piece of vacuu-formed plastic with the pop-a-matic bubble. You have to install a flimsy cardboard insert of the game board on top of it and good luck getting it under the little clips without ripping or bending it.The pop-a-matic bubble is really hard to pop. two adults playing with a 3 year old and we were all leaning on it to pop it. That’s kinda ridiculous.Bring back the clear plastic encased game board of Yester-year. This one is an imposter. Would not suggest buying it.

Five Stars

great game

Childhood Memories

So as I opened this I was flooded with memories of playing with my siblings growing up. We’d drive my mother mad with this game. I was disappointed that it’s a cheaper quality.

Cheaply made.

I had this game as a child and it lasted for a decade. I bought one for my son and it is so cheaply mad that the board isn’t even attached so the pegs just keep falling off.

Four Stars

Good

Must own!

This game is a must own. I just wish that Hasbro kept the board like the one I had in the 80s. The retro versions are available, but more more pricey.

So fun for all ages

Trouble is such a classic game. I recommend for all ages!

Our kids enjoy this game

Our kids enjoy this game, it is similar to the original. however the spinner, board, and “pop-o-Matic” are incredibly flimsy and cheaply made.
