Are you here because you too couldn’t get a NES Classic Edition? Look no further!

This tiny computer is amazing for emulation. Why spend $60 on a NES Classic when this can play NES, SNES, GB, GBC, GBA, Master System, Genesis games, and many more! Unlike with the NES Classic Edition, which only has 30 games, this lets you add as many as you want! The NES Classic controller has a 24 inch long cord. lame. Raspberry Pi works with practically any USB controller, even wireless bluetooth ones! This is cheaper than the NES Classic, and you can actually BUY ONE. It’s Nintendo’s loss for not making more.Assembly of the Retropie is so easy! Just put the motherboard inside the clear case and it snaps shut. Download Retropie from their website, extract the program from the Zip Folder, and write it onto a Micro SD Card using win32diskimager (a free, easy to find program). Then just insert that Micro SD Card in the Raspberry Pi and turn it on. After it boots up, plug any empty flash drive into the Raspberry Pi, and it’ll create all the necessary folders for roms. Then remove the flash drive when its light stops flashing and use your PC to put the right roms into the right folders, then plug that flash drive back into the Raspberry Pi. It’ll copy over all the roms, so you won’t need the flash drive anymore. And that’s it! Just configure your controller and your done! Its so easy even a dummy like me could do it! I mostly use it for 2D games and they all run and look great in HD!

Love this starter kit

Great package for the price. I wanted to get my own sdcard, and I already had an HDMI cable to use so I just wanted something simple (Case, heatsink, and power). I am using this for Retropie to play some old school games, and this setup works great for that. The power adapter is long and works good for placing on a desk or in an entertainment center. The case was a little finicky at first, but with some effort it did fit. The included screws didn’t seem to work, but the snaps on the case did the job. The sink come with what seems to be double sided tape and stick on both cards just fine. I would definitely recommend this to anyone starting with a pi 3 and need it to be enclosed and set somewhere on a desk of sorts.F.Y.I., It does come with the Pi

Great product and awesome bang for your buck.

I love this product. I converted mine into a Plex Media Server and it is the best! How something so small can do so much and for the price…you cannot beat it. I will definitely be buying more for there are so many projects and uses for the RPi. The only thing I would change about it is the USB ports are only 2.0 not 3.0. Other than that, it’s great.Also, if you know someone who cannot afford a lot in the way of a home computer, this is a good way to go. I loaded NOOBS on mine and selected Raspbian as the operating system. It has everything you need for web browsing, and homework. The raspbian that came with NOOBS has Open Office…or LibreOffice which are very similar to Microsoft Office. They can read and write to office documents and save in those formats. Super stuff!

Great way to buy a Raspberry Pi 3

Best Raspberry Pi 3 starter kit on Amazon. It has all the essentials in one package.Update: By now I have 3 of these (two were my own purchases on Amazon and one was a gift). I maintain that this is the best way to purchase a Raspberry Pi 3. All of the components of the kit have arrived undamaged and the case and power supply are good quality. This is much better than buying the components separately. Just add an SD card and you’ve got a system (recently I’ve been using SanDisk Extreme cards also bought on Amazon with no problems).

Performance is really amazing for the price/size

I loaded RaspbianPi on an SD card and connected to a HD LCD monitor, keyboard and mouse, and you could swear you were running a desktop PC with Linux. Performance is really amazing for the price/size. I used it to develop a Python app in two days which acts as a rather sophisticated “photo viewer” driven by remote control. It displays EXIF, captions, etc and works WAY better that any Smart TV or standalone version of a photo display I have seen. This was for an aged relative to be able to view my (and others) photo collections.I ordered a second one for another app I am going to write.

Great deal for a Pi 3

Pi 3 is awesome, so much faster than my original Pi. This kit does just what it’s supposed to, providing a robust power supply, and a functional case. I put the heat sinks on, though I don’t know that my usage will ever get it too hot. From Pi Web site, I’ve experimented with a few of the OS’s, Windows 10 IoT was new to me, took a little longer to get setup with my Windows 10 desktop and Visual Studio, but great learning. I setup a NOOBS, and installed Raspbian effortlessly (which is what I use on my original Pi). Looking forward to trying some of the others too.

Pi came well packaged, and price was good. I needed everything this package provided, and I like to use my own memory cards because I need more space than most. So this package was great.The case snapped together holding the pi in place. It has holes to screw the board to the case, but it holds it perfect without the screws, everything is solid.The power supply is rated for the pi at 2.5amp which is exactly what it needs. And the heat sinks are the exact size needed for the chips.
