Rattles, poor build quality. 2nd Vornado fan model I have that rattles…

Fat rattles in the middle of the night waking me up between 1 and 4 AM multiple times. I should also note that I purchased the mini desk model for my cubicle at work and I cannot use it as it makes too much noise and also rattles… I purchased this based on recommendations that it was nearly as good as a Dyson and well worth the money. It definitely is not worth the money, it’s a powerful fan but the rattling and build quality ruin it. I will be purchasing the cheapest fan I can find from now on.

Too expensive to only last 6 months!

I originally purchased the 530L and it lasted 3 years in my humid bathroom. I just ordered this 530 in September; not even a full 6 months and its completely dead. I don’t know what they hanged but this version is crap. Works great while it lasts but for this price point I expect to get more than 6 months~!!!!!!!

STAY COOL ON STAGE

‘I am a full time bass player/singer in a blues/funk/rock band… I have been using this model of fan for 7 years now. I got my first one ‘used’ and beat the living hell out of it! I’ve had to do some repairs here and there. (Mainly due to years of chucking it into the van, night after night, after gigs) Even though it’s still going strong, I bought a brand new one. (I bungie the old one to the lighting tree to keep my ol’ ADJ Krystal from overheating…LOL!) This Vornado is like an air cannon. It is such a life saver when gigging year ‘round. Even great for keeping mosquitos/flies off during outdoor summer gigs. If you are trying to “stay cool” on stage, this fan is the one to get! It’s worth the $! Just bought my drummer the mid size for his Bday…-‘cause that’s how a bass player do-

Complete Fail. No stars.

Sadly, this is a piece of crap. I have 2 larger Vornados & wanted a small one to use under a window AC. Arrived today. Sounds like a bike wheel with a playing card clipped to it; constant loud rattle during operation. Took it apart (difficult to remove the little screw but managed, using directions for cleaning it. Found nothing wrong, just a cheap motor & bad construction. This is a bad knock off of their own design. Noise seems to be because the blades are too close the the air intake guide. No way to adjust & not catching on anything. The thing also speeds up and slows down randomly, esp at low speed, and after running (loudly) for less than 5 minutes (while I was writing this review),it just died. Now there is a burning smell. Going to return. Have been a fan of Vorndao til now. Seriously bad product, the 530. My $9 Target fan is quieter and has been running constantly for weeks, no problem.

Disappointing Vornado

I only had this fan about 2 weeks before it stopped working entirely. I returned the fan for reimbursement. I have another model Vornado that is about 3 years old and is going strong. I am so pleased with my other Vornado which is why I invested in another. I will purchase other Vornado products but not this model.

Big wind from a small fan

This is a small fan but it moves air around in a big way. We have a 12X27 bedroom. I set up the Vornado on the floor in one corner and pointed it at the ceiling of the opposite corner. Within a minute we could feel the air movement through out the room.We do not use air conditioning in the summer. Our home has three stories with 10’ ceilings - the heat migrates up to the third floor where we blow it out the window with a box fan. There are two or three other fans that will be replaced with Vornados this summer.

BEST SMALL FAN

This is the best small fan I’ve ever owned. I love the term ‘air circulator’. I’m sure it circulates, but it also blows. I have it blowing on me when I’m cooking in my hot kitchen and most of the time, I have it on the second highest setting. Don’t bother with a Honeywell fan - spend the extra cash on this little blaster and you won’t be sorry. It looks really nice and is solidly built. If you want it to be quiet as well, you’re definitely asking for too much. I took off a star for the control knob being hard to access. In a perfect world, it would be in the front.

Fan literally started smoking in baby’s nursery

Our first Vornado fan started making a terribly clicking sound like something was loose and stopped working. We called on the 5 year warranty and got a replacement. Our second fan had been in the baby’s nursery for 2 hours before I noticed a very concerning smell of smoke coming from the nursery. The fan had stopped working and was smoking. Both times the fan was plugged into a surge protector. Contacted customer service to suggest a recall may be necessary & the rep was less than helpful. Needless to say, we are trying to get our money back.

Just completely stopped working after 7 months, but great customer service to replace

Loved it while it was operating, but was hoping it would continue working. Super helpful customer service when I needed to replace it, shipped a new unit out super quick!

Product stopped working.. waste of money

I purchased this product on May 12 and 2 weeks ago (in about 3 months) it simply quit working. It won’t start and I get nothing but some kind of weird sound.
