Love the design, functionality left a lot to be desired, maybe defective?

I have a Vornado V8, which I really love. So, when I found the need for a more compact, smaller fan, this V6 model seemed like a no-brainer. I also liked the fact that this model was offered in all kinds of nifty colors. So I ordered it in the Blue Bliss, which turned out to be a perfect mach for my bedspread.I was a little surprised at just how small this model was, I expected it to be a little larger. I love the design of these Flippi fans, they are very sleek, attractive and I like the fact that they can be swiveled vertically. I loved the size, I loved the color and I loved how quiet it was on “low.” Unfortunately, that’s where the love ended. On low I found that the air flow was almost imperceptible. If I was more than a couple feet away, I felt nothing. I had purchased it to keep on a nightstand to blow across the bed. When I tried it on “high”, I was surprised at how noisy it was, with a loud rushing sound and noisy rattling. There was no way we could sleep with this running, so it’s going back. I’m hoping ours was just defective, but based on the large amount of used ones being offered in each color at a discount by Amazon Warehouse, I’m suspecting that it may be a design flaw in these V6 models. My much larger V8 moves a lot of air and does not rattle like this one.All in all, although I loved the design and features of this model fan, the functionality for our purpose was severely lacking. I would highly recommend checking out the larger V8 model if you are looking for effective air flow. If you want something very quiet. and will have it sitting on a desk blowing right into your face, then this one on set on “low” may be for you. Also, perhaps others won’t have the same noisy rattle on “high” that ours did.I rely heavily on customer reviews when I go to purchase an item, and I know others do, as well. I hope you have found the information I have provided to be helpful.

Good for cooling electronics

These fans are small and don’t move a whole lot of air but I bought three of them to keep electronic equipment cool and for that, they are great. I don’t think it would be very useful to actually cool a room but these are small enough to put in cabinets or under desks where you have a bunch of electronics just to keep the air circulating and dissipate heat. For that, they are quite nice. I think if you want a little air movement or even some white noise, these are great. But if you’re looking for something to keep you cool in a hot room, they make a larger version just like this & that would be a better choice.

Lame on off switch

I like these vornado fans however the on off switch is lame. This little fan is great for a bedside table but if you’re like me you may want to turn it on and off several times throughout the night (it doesn’t rotate). To do this you have to use one hand to hold the fan and one hand to turn the “switch” or else you’ll knock the fan off the table. Would have been better maybe with a twist knob. Not that easy when you’re laying down and half asleep.Otherwise it’s a great fan.

Low profile, and quiet too!!!

I love this little fan. We use it in the winter to move heat from our vaulted ceiling down to lower levels where we need it. Haven’t owned it during summer months yet, but we plan to use it then too, just for additional spot cooling. It has two speeds and the noise level is very low, unlike larger fans we’ve tried. Loved the first one we bought so much, I ordered a second one. Although it doesn’t oscillate, I love this little fan because it can be tilted to any angle, which is quite useful. I would definitely recommend this fan to others.

Low speed is fine, high speed is a little loud

Nice little fan for use at my desk at work. Low speed is very quiet and, provided I keep the fan within 2 or 3 feet from my face, it makes enough airflow to keep me feeling fresh in my otherwise too-warm office environment. High speed is just a bit too noisy, and for that I’m deducting 1 star.

Weak, but reliable.

On the low setting, this won’t even move a piece of tissue from where it sits. Good thing I bought it for the noise to sit by my bed at night and not to actually blow air on me. =| However, I will give it kudos for reliability. I’ve used it all night every single night for 7 months straight and it still sounds the same. No ticks or buzzes. Couldn’t sleep without it.

Nice Fan

These fans are great for our use. This is my 2nd one, the 1st being the V8 Flippi. I like them both and I’m very happy with my purchase. All fans have a certain amount noise and this one is no exception. But I don’t find the noise to be deafening at all. We have the small one in our office and use the larger one in our bathroom. Living in Arizona the fans have been a lifesaver. Just remember that with the small one it does not oscillate like the larger fan does. Would definitely recommend.

This is a great little fan

This is a great little fan. It’s very compact, I leave it in my bathroom and typically turn it on to cool me down a little when I’m getting ready for work in the morning. I think the output of the air is relative to the fan size, meaning the air isn’t blasting out of the fan. It’s a good amount of air, but not extremely powerful. The fan itself appears to be sturdy and well-made.

You can’t really feel the air at the low speed …

You can’t really feel the air at the low speed and the high speed is very fast and loud. There is nothing in between.
