Color:Champagne The Pivot is the newest addition to the Vornado line of personal circulators. Designed with a nod to our roots in aviation, the Pivot looks something akin to a stylized jet engine. At 6” tall, the Pivot is the perfect size to adorn a desk or nightstand and striking enough to command some serious envy. With 3 speed manual controls, a pivoting axis to direct the air where you need it and a 3-year satisfaction guarantee, you can easily keep cool and comfortable in style.
Design - 5/5Construction - 5/5Air Flow - 3/5Noise - 2/5DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION (5⁄5)A really nice looking fan with a retro (50’s-70’s era) design. Very small footprint. Metal base with transparent rubber stoppers to prevent the unit from moving or rattling on surfaces like glass. The housing is make of a very hard plastic and is mounted to the metal base with this same plastic. One would have an hard time trying to snap this, let alone the idea of it happening by accident.AIRFLOW & NOISE (3⁄5)I own one of the Zippis and I had expected a little more air movement out of this model. While it beats the Zippi on the highest setting (barely)…– The low setting seems to barely move any air – I can barely feel the wind hit my face from 12 in. away on my desk. I couldn’t imagine this setting being helpful when it starts reaching 90 degrees in a month or so. Very little noise at this level, though.– The medium setting pushes maybe 33% more air and is definitely louder than or as loud as the high Zippi setting– The high setting is incredibly loud for a desk fan, and it doesn’t seem to move much more air than the medium setting (maybe 40-45% more than the low setting)As someone who games with people online, there’s no way I’ll be able to use this fan on high while in chat. I’d be surprised if the medium setting works out. It’s more likely that I’ll be relying on my floor fan in this scenario. Good enough for coding with headphones on, I guess.CONCLUSION (4⁄5)All in all, it functions, the build seems to be very solid, and it only cost $20 (at the time I purchased it)…but it is still a little disappointing when you hear this thing run.
This is one styling fan, which is great for a desk or office that you want to personalize. However, the fan pushes almost no air on the lowest setting. At medium, you can feel it from a few feet, but it starts getting loud. The highest setting is powerful enough for a small, desktop fan, but is far too loud to run in an office with anyone else around.
Perfect size. We have one for the office desk and one for bedside. Puts out a decent amount of air with not much noise. We like the styling too.
On low it’s a quiet, discreet, perfectly civilized little desk fan to run all day every day in your cubicle, even if you spend all your time with a headset on. Just perfect, and looks nice too. On high, it flails away at the air with a great whooshing sound, failing to move nearly as much air as you’d hope for with that kind of racket. Understand its limitations, is what I’m saying.
Not what I expected. I was expecting a large volume of air movement. This fan puts out a medium breeze at besy.
You’d have to real not want airflow to use this thing. It barely circulates a noticeable amount of air unless on high, where it is surprisingly noisy. Low and medium settings are pointless. My goal was to use it at my office desk, where it can get warm during the day, especially for us men. It was very ineffective at being a passive cooling fan. I would have to put it in on high and directly in front of me (within a foot) to feel a breeze of any kind hit my body.Having a standup desk, my plan will now be to by a smaller “regular” fan like we all know from Honeywell and place it on the floor angled up towards my legs/body. This should suffice for moving a simple amount of cooler air my direction. And it probably won’t even cost the $20 they want for this thing.
Perfect!
I adore Vornado fans. I have three large room fans, and they’ve lasted thirteen years with no problems. Well, my son did drop one of the fans about six years ago and it cracked the base as well as broke the blade. But with a little epoxy and a phone call to Vornado, I was able to replace the Blade for $12 and fix the base. This little fan has the same high quality as my large fans. What I like:-Three settings, The first and second setting are really the only ones that blow enough to cool.-Sleek and small and totally adorable-Attractive, contemporary look-Blows air on the third setting as far as 6 feet. Once you get past 6 feet, you really don’t feel it much. But this isn’t a room fan, it’s just for sitting at a desk with the user in close proximity.-Heavy metal brushed nickel base. Very attractive-Kind of loud on the highest setting. Not everyone appreciates a loud fan. I like white noise. It’s soothing and keeps out distractions. I don’t know of many fans that move air really well without making noise. I suppose they’re out there, but I’m sure they are really pricey.-Perfect white noise for a baby’s room. Fans saved my life when my kids were infants. As soon as they were falling asleep, I’d put a fan on. The only problem is sometimes it would make the room too cold. This fan has all the nice white noise with circulating the air in the entire room.-Price. I think this fan is fairly priced for a Vornado, especially since it will last more than a decade. What I don’t like:-Not much air movement on the first setting. Oh well, I still love this little fan.
Really cute, but I am not impressed with how much air is moves, and its far more noisy than any other vornado I have.
Very stylish and functional desk fan. It is quiet but very effective in keeping you cool while circulating the air in the room.
While I really like the styling and footprint of this Vornado fan, it doesn’t move much air. I understand that the fan is not meant to cool your house, but the lower speeds move…
I had been using a cheap ole fan that my kids rejected - it really puts out a minimal flow, but I had it and it kindof worked. But this Vornado is a complete upgrade.
I’d give this little feller 5 stars on looks. It’s beautiful, minimalist, clean, form-following-function gorgeous.
This unusual design pivots to aim it where you want. It has three speeds and moves a lot of air on high. It makes just enough noise to provide the white noise I like at night.
I got this to use at my desk at work. It is very powerful and relatively quiet compared to the other cheaper fan I used to have.
This personal fan does a good job circulating air around me. It’s small and fits in a tiny space. The stand is sturdy and the fan won’t tip over. It has three speed settings.
Vornado knows how to make a fan. This personal fan is pretty great and looks nice. It works on desks, end tables, nightstands, etc.
