Excellent performance for their price

I purchased the Wasabi batteries and charger kit for a 5000 mile road trip (to perform a time lapse with my Gopro 3) - having used the two Wasabi batteries with a GoPro standard battery in continuous rotation (whilst on the road) for 6 days I can say that the Wasabi batteries perform at least as well as the standard GoPro, I also could not distinguish any difference in charging times using the charger with in car adapter which in itself is extremely useful.The Wasabi batteries have also had extensive use (8 days worth) in below freezing temperatures on ski slopes (temperatures ranging from -10 to 0 degrees Celsius) Again I did not really notice any difference in performance between the Wasabi and the GoPro batteries. I have had the batteries for around a two months.Since I cannot tell the difference in performance and given the huge difference in price compared to the standard battery from GoPro (not to mention the charger you get) I have no problem in buying more batteries and actually already have purchased and extra battery individually to replace one I lost on a ski slope whilst snowboarding..wont be leaving the pockets open again!

Works great, however capacity claim on label overrated

I took off one start on principe because these batteries seem to have slightly lower true capacity then original GoPro battery, no matter what the label on the battery claims. I don’t like when manufacturers overrate specs on the label.Said that, in real world use it is not really that bad. If I let camera record video with freshly charged battery until battery dies, I get about 1 hour and 13 minutes with original GoPro battery, and about 1 hour and 10 minutes with Wasabi battery (using same recording settings, under same conditions, etc). At half the price of original, 3 minutes less of recording time isn’t that much of an issue. If you want to buy two of these, Wasabi also sells 2-pack combo that comes with dedicated wall/car charger. If you go through multiple batteries in single day, definitely buy 2-pack combo with charger instead of two individual batteries, so that you can charge multiple batteries in parallel (one in camera, one in dedicated charger).

Excellent solution to increase GoPro usage time in the field

I purchased this item as well as the Wasabi Power Kit that includes another two batteries and a wall charger. These batteries are the perfect solution for extending the usage time of your GoPro HERO3 out in the field. I use these with my GoPro HERO3 Black Edition and I love them. They are listed as being 1200 mAh versus the 1050 mAh of the GoPro branded batteries. For me this does not translate to any real extended use time, but I am using the GoPro to record video at 2.7k resolution with the Protune codec being used. These are the most power intensive settings, and will drain any battery quickly. The 1200 mAh may give you extended use time if you are leaving the camera in standby mode or using it for photos. Regardless, they match the roughly 1 ¹⁄₂ hour life of the GoPro branded batteries, and are a fraction of the cost! I highly recommend picking up some of these batteries to make sure you never miss a shot!

Better than my stock battery

I get between 20-40 minutes more life out of this battery than the one my Hero3 came with. I am not sure if that is because that battery is a year old or this is better? After 4 months of use no issues with the battery. I have also never had my camera freeze up on me with the battery. The stock battery the camera will sometimes freeze and require me to pull the battery to reset it. It has never done that with this battery.

Great batttery

Good battery alternate for OEM GoPro battery.

Comparing the Wasabi battery with the OEM battery,-Battery life seems to be similar.-Been using it for about a month.-half the price of OEM bat.-the bad, the tape handle comes off easily. The OEM seems firm but the Wasabi one feels cheap.Bottom line: If I had to buy more batteries, I’d buy these.

It’s a pretty good battery

I got it, because I have a minute case of OCD. My GoPro case has two battery slots. I had two, one in my GoPro and one extra, therefore I needed one more to fill my case. It’s a pretty good battery, the GoPro battery loses it’s power extremely fast. I know how batteries work, they lose their strength as time goes on, but having never used the battery, it lasted about an hour.

This battery is decent although it is only about half as good as the original but that’s what you should expect …

I purchased this battery when my original one stop holding a full charge. This battery is decent although it is only about half as good as the original but that’s what you should expect when you buy a battery that’s only ten or so bucks. Does the job as a backup but it definitely doesn’t hold a full charge at least mine didn’t. Perhaps I just got a bad battery?

Great battery for my GoPro. Love the little tabs on the back that make it easy to remove (GoPro brand does not have this). Holds a charge well. Wouldn’t hesitate to buy again.
