Lightweight and Ingenious Design - Really Extends Your Shooting Time for Hero5

 The Wasabi Extended Battery for the Hero5 is a must-have if you want to shoot for long periods. I’ve easily filled up 64-gig cards with 2.7K video recorded for as long as 2 hours and 50 minutes. Depending on frame rate and video size you should be able to get up to 4 hours of recording time. The battery is light-weight, comes with a nice frame that surrounds the battery and GoPro to hold it all together, and includes a charging cable and extender arm for easier positioning of the camera when mounted. I highly recommend this battery. Pretty ingenious, the way they designed this on. Only downside is you have no access to the back screen - not usually such a big deal in my opinion. You just have to set your shooting parameters before connecting and framing the battery Hero5.

Extended power at the expense of covering the screen.

Power is as described and I was able to keep this on for at least 3 hours (using remote to record as needed) without worrying about the battery. The downside is the actual design that wraps around the back and covers the screen, It makes for a more compact package compared to the side only extended batteries but I did not realize how much I used the screen until I couldn’t…

Haven’t had a chance to use the battery yet since it didn’t fit in the protective housing. You need the housing to be able to attach the camera to all the accessories, so without it your extremely limited to the camera’s use, besides the fact that the battery won’t stay plugged in without it also.
