Tips For First Time Users
I purchased this product because I am an adult with braces (again) and it is much harder to clean around the brackets than I remember it being when I was in high school. Enter the Waterpik, after reading reviews I decided this was a worthwhile investment even after I get my braces off.After using this machine I am thrilled with how healthy and clean my gums feel, it is so much easier than flossing and in my opinion the results are far better. That being said there is some trial and error to using this, here are a few tips that I feel would have been helpful for me right off the bat.-adding a splash of mouthwash to the water makes a huge difference-do not use super cold water, I thought that would be refreshing to use cold water vs warm but it ended up just being painful because it was so cold-when using the product keep your mouth pointed straight at the sink, you will still have a ton of water running out of your mouth but at least it will fall directly into the sink and not down the front of you and down your arm.-Do not take the unit out of your mouth while it is on or you will have water everywhere, I know this sounds like an obvious tip but it is surprisingly difficult to focus on not moving the stream of water out of your mouth when you go from top teeth to bottom.Overall I am super happy with the purchase, the unit looks super sleek and modern on my counter and doesn’t take up a ton of space. My boyfriend teased me for buying it and now he uses it every night because it makes his mouth feel so clean and he doesn’t even have braces. I highly recommend!
Waterpik Performance and Stylish Look. Buy If You Can Find This at the Right Price.
I always buy and review on Amazon first unless I find the item for a much cheaper price elsewhere. This is one of those few instances.This replaces an 8 year old deluxe Waterpik model. I was surprised at how light and flimsy this seemed compared to my older one. The pressure on the high setting could be stronger. It is no stronger than what my 8 year old model was pushing out. But it will suffice. Filling the water is a little cumbersome. The lid stays on the machine. You swivel the lid up, take out the clear tank and fill it. Replace the tank and drop the lid. When the tank is out there is a place you can “hide” two tips which are accessed only when the tank is out. It’s the black edge on the left side of the tank in the picture. The floss mode is your regular continuous flow. The massage mode is weird. Long time between pulses. Doubt if I ever use it. Seems to be a gimmick. The extra tips are interesting, but I rarely use the extra tips. I like the stylish black color, but in the end this performs no better than any of the cheaper white Waterpik models. If you can find this for a price comparable to the white models, buy it.
Good for teeth and gums
I’m sure this works exactly as designed, I just have a few adjustments to make in order to be comfortable using it on a daily basis. I’ve seen the video of a guy in a shirt and tie using it without getting his clothes wet, but I am not that coordinated. I get water on myself, the counter, the faucet, and any objects on the counter surrounding the sink. Really not a big problem, I just wipe the sink and counter after using. Another comment, I use it in the upstairs bathroom, and I have to run the water a long time to get the water to a comfortable temperature for my sensitive teeth. I will continue to use the water flosser, because I do think it is good from my teeth and gums.

I will be getting braces soon so my dentist recommended I get this. The designer edition looks a bit more stylish compared to the base one. It looks nice next to my sonicare toothbrush. And it works great.
Makes teeth and gums healthier
First water flosser I have purchased and I love it! I use this a lot more often (almost daily) which keeps my gums/teeth healthier. I would only use string floss 1-2 times a week (during a good week) so I find this more convenient. I’ll see if my dentist notices the difference the next time I visit.

Awesome. Does what it says .I cannot say what an impact using this machine with natural mouth wash has had on gums and overall health .One must remember that eyes / ears/ and throat are all connected .I can honestly say that it will help with all three .Once gums are clean and healed from this machine .Has large capacity tank .Just remember its designed to release excess water from small hole in bottom of tank .Just use small piece of clear tape to stop leak if desired.The hole is just to make sure you never have stagnant water in tank if left for a long period of time!!
I have to admit that I am not much of a flosser but this waterpik makes it easy. It doesn’t hurt or cut my gums up …
This is my first waterpik and I am loving it. I have to admit that I am not much of a flosser but this waterpik makes it easy. It doesn’t hurt or cut my gums up and my teeth actually feel cleaner afterwards. All of the included attachments help with different areas of focus. This is a great alternative to flossing and its kinda fun.

Essentially unchanged from previous models - though a ‘nicer looking’ design. Unfortunately(MO), there has not been an increase in water pressure compared to previous models - though the ‘internals’ MAY have been upgraded as the info pamphlet included indicates now say’s it is OK to add ‘mouth wash’ type additives to the water tank - as long as you run clean water thru it afterwards - whereas it was clearly stated NOT to do so in the info provided with previous models. (The 4-Star was only due to no increase in available water pressure settings.)
