    Product Description

A lighter more accessible version of the Pro Staff RF 97 Autograph gets a familiar cosmetic update but retains many of the same characteristics that made this a best seller at RacquetGuys. The new matt black paint is highlighted by glossy red at 9 and 3 o’clock on the head in similar fashion to the popular Pro Staff 97S. Lighter and faster than the RF 97 Autograph, the Pro Staff 97 is still a head light racquet to give you even more whip and access to spin. Strung this racquet weighs 11.7 ounces and can withstand punishing blows from heavy hitting opponents. At net the 7 points head light balance makes the racquet extremely maneuverable. Like Pro Staff’s in the past, this racquet features a thin beam and provides a lot of feel and control in the 16 x 19 string pattern.

I was so glad to hear that Wilson had chosen to create a …

Using a comparison tool online, my son and I researched many, many racquets similar in weight, balance, swing style, etc. I was so glad to hear that Wilson had chosen to create a slightly lighter version of the 97S. But I still had my reservations because he had recently been struggling alot with tennis elbow, so our “on-paper” research only meant so much to me.Then I was fortunate enough to read another reader’s comments, discussing how despite making the transition to this racquet was actually a move up in the overall racquet weight from the one he’d previously used, that the increase to this racquet’s “points headlight” actually resulted in a lower overall swingweight for him! (less effort to swing the same or even a greater weight) I made a quick comparison of the swingweight of the 2017’s 97 Pro Staff to the swingweight of my son’s then racquet’s swingweight and BINGO!!! The racquet had my undivided attention!I was still aware we wouldn’t truly know if it was right for him until he used it, so I decided to take the plunge. Well, he’s VERY happy with it, so-much-so I just purchased a second one so he will have a backup for when he’s competing in tournaments and when he goes away to tennis camp. (for those unfamiliar, strings do pop at the worst times!)Happy kid, happy daddy.

Great racket for me!

Love this racket and the customer service with regard to the racket coming unstrung when the description and an answer in the Q & A implied it would be strung, was excellent. Remember that it comes unstrung. This is a great racket for my game. I hope they’ve changed the description and removed the answer someone gave about it being strung.

Great racket!

I like it!

Very good !

Extreme control,precision and decent power.

This racquet is awesome. Though its heavy, given the stable weight distribution, you wont feel it. I was using a racquet 50 grams lighter than this and i was able to adapt to this within the 2nd match i used it for.You will get extreme control and precision with this stick. I used M7 17G @ 57 tension and it works out well for me.Also, the 97 head gives you awesome control in net play. But i found power/spin to be on lower side.I found that i didnt get great pop on my serve but that might be because i am still struggling to find the sweet spot.Overall, an awesome racquet which i will probably go with for the next 5 years. One advice, buy an overgrip since its easy to start damaging the girp. I managed to get some tears within the first 5 matches i played.
