The panel arrived used not new (not a good start). This panel was poorly built, heavy and oversized, silicone cells were encapsulated in a mount that was made for a larger panel (maybe a 50 watt panel?). Bulky and heavy with sloppy attention to detail, a good example of this was the + and - terminals were written on a piece of paper and taped to the back of the panel. Made in India and should only be sold in India. Yikes! Don’t buy it.

September 2016 puchase of a 30 watt solar panel from WindyNation

As with other reviewers, while the panel is functional when you take it out of the box, you get the impression that the panel was used when you first see it. The box had been resealed and the screw holes for mounting it look like there had been screws in it before. The construction quality while being strong could have been better designed to provide a more effective manner of mounting the panel.While I would buy additional panels of the same type, I think that the Amazon supplier needs to reach out to their supplier with all the comments that everyone has here to provide a better panel in the future. While I did note that some users have complained that mounting hardware was not supplied, the number of ways that people will mount these panels vary a great deal so it is a bit crazy to provide the standard mounting hardware that will most likely be tossed if the user uses a pole mount or roof tilt system (mostly choice). That said, the description should clearly indicate that some type of mounting hardware is required based on how the user will be mounting it.I will update this review after this winter to tell you how it survived the snows of Mount Shasta.

Very nice, appears to be well made with a rigid aluminum frame. I paralleled two of these panels to charge my single 12v RV battery. Works fantastic! I didn’t need to use my generator for charging the battery, and with the panels connected, the battery held sufficient charge for my recent 5-day boondocking trip.

Great Operating Panel, and it’s tough!

Very well built and tough - it went through a hail storm with almost baseball sized hail, and no damage! It puts out around 18v at 1.8 amps in full sun - I have it connected to a PWM charge controller charging a 12V battery, and it works very well. I connected it directly to a 12v 20w landscape light, and in full sun it will light the bulb at complete brightness (and generate the heat)! I cut off the MC4 connectors - couldn’t find an easy set to use to connect to my charge controller, so I wired to some 12 gauge auto type connectors to connect in to the PWM controller.

Trash Panels

Complete trash. I ordered this to help run a light in the chicken coop. Two of the corners of the frame were far from flush & had dried putty on the corners & a big scratch along one side.Two or three of the cells within the panel had visible cracks/chips and large sections of the wire strips connecting the cells were damaged.I’ve gotten 4 different brands of panels through amazon the past couple years and without a doubt, WindyNation is the worst. Never again.

i like it, though it didn’t come with mounting kits

its been doing its job so far. i like it, though it didn’t come with mounting kits. should be sold together not separate. i wouldn’t mind paying whatever the addition is with the mounting kit. please look into that for other customers

Pens work well for me especially in low-light I still pull at least 5.5 volts the the work craftsmanship could have been a little better but they came one time they work just well they work for me I would recommend anybody looking for a decent price solar panel that works in low-light with good voltage this is it
