Seriously, another great Zooz item. Works as intended. Battery life seems good and the functionality within the Smartthings app is great. Very happy with this.
These sensors work perfectly with Samartthings and Dome water main shut-off. Great price. Very happy with this sensor so far.
Seems reliable. Love the external probe. What would have been even better is if it wasn’t using same contacts. This way, you could cover 2 areas near by with same sensor. For example, in my boiler room, I have the probe dipped in to the sewage - it monitors sewage water back up. If I could use the main probe contacts, it could monitor the are near the boiler.
Easy to activate. Setup straight forward as per instructions. Will buy more.
Pairing to homeseer 3 was painless and very quick.Reacts to moisture on the sensor pins very quickly.I like that you can just set it on the ground and don’t need to use the sensor that is included. This way you can remove the device when you clean the floor with water and a mop.The only unknown is the battery used.I have no other device with this kind of battery and time will tell how long it lasts.I will update his review should the battery drain quickly.I will buy one more since the price is just right and it seems to be a quality item, nice and sturdy.
Didn’t show up in Wink as a leak sensor. Had other sensors listed but not leak
I have three of these sensors in my house. One behind the washing machine, one under the kitchen sink and one behind the kids bathroom toilet. There are three metal points at the bottom of the sensor and when water connects any two points, it activates an audible alarm and sends a zwave signal. The alarm is loud enough to hear from another room, but more importantly you can configure your zwave system to notify you any number of different ways including shutting off the water in your house with a zwave control valve. You can save your self a huge headache and a lot of money by investing in a sensor like this and a zwave valve to shut off your water. The sensor itself feels cheap because it’s light weight, but it works exactly like it should! I feel the price point is right on and I intend to add more of these sensors to my house. I have a slight paranoia of a random water leak in my house. This makes me feel a little better. This sensor does include a remote probe so you can mount the unit and put the probe somewhere else, say in an area where it might become fully submerged. The main unit is not designed to be dunked in water completely, but the remote probe seems to be! This could allow for someone with a sump system to automate a pump to turn on when the water really he’s a certain level.I included some pictures so you can see it’s relative size. These are small and can really go anywhere. The 3 metal feet just need to be in an area where water will go so it sets off the sensor.I use this sensor with Smartthings and it does require a custom handler which you can get from the seller’s website (The Smartest House) or by searching Google.READ MORE
Received the package yesterday and in about 15 minutes after opening, it was hooked up and added to my Nexia app. This item was packaged very well and appears to be made of high quality materials. I chose to use the probe in my hot water heater pan and screw the sensor into a nearby beam in my attic. Time will tell on the battery performance. The package arrive on time and well packaged. Will be purchasing more of these for other areas in my house. I particularly like the price given that most of the others are around $45 to $50.Update: Soon after installing this sensor, it was found to be able to sense and report a water leak to my Nexia hub, however, this particular brand will not send out updates as far as the battery status. The Zooz representative was great to work with and helped in figuring out the problem with Zooz and Nexia incompatibility. She indicated that Zooz will work to correct this problem in their next firmware update. I plan on keeping this unit, but instead of using it in my attic, I will use it in my laundry room where I can easily reset it on occasion to check the battery status.
I’m very concerned with the quality of these sensors. I ordered 2 of them at the same time. The first unit hooked up to my SmartThings network (using device handler) but the…
